Black Buck | Mateo Askaripour
Ring π€πΌ ring! Darren Vender is a hard working young Black man in NYC. He's the black-apron-wearing Coffee Master at the Starbucks situated on the first floor of 3 Park Avenue. He runs a tight ship, never missing a beat or messing up an order. The shop has a flow of executives and professionals whose orders Darren has mostly memorized.
On the Day his Life Changed, Darren meets Rhett Daniels and convinces him to order a different drink than his usual. This sets the stage for a truly wild ride. There's a cast of characters: supporting Ma, longtime love Soroya, best friend Jason, mentor Rhett, fellow trainee Frodo & newfound foe Clyde. That is just in Part 1!!
We do not want to give away ANY of the book. Darren is in for a lot of changes after he meets Rhett. Where will they take him? Will he stay the Darren that he’s always been, or transform into a completely new person? With a captivating and satirical writing style, Askaripour takes us on a lesson in sales.
We both read this and give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars! The satire and pacing make this book so fun to read. We loved getting new perspectives from Darren and learned a ton about a world that we are not involved in. We’re so glad we got to read this book. We had high hopes and it really rose above each of them. We laughed and we cried and we clapped: Every ππ» day ππ» is ππ» deals ππ» day ππ»!!
