A family of 4 slips out of NYC for a relaxing vacation away from it all. Things quickly go off course when the owners of the house they are renting appear at the door late one evening with word of a blackout.

The events that follow are described in sneaking suspense: No power or cell service, thousands of deer, an inexplicable and terrifying sound. And who are these people? The slow burn of this story is tantalizingly filled with unseen bits of the bigger picture, giving you only a glimpse at the wider horror of what is actually happening. 

There is creeping dread as the story unfolds with more questions than answers. Everything seems so... normal, or does it?

An Alicia pick! I loved this book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, 5 stars or whatever our rating system is. Leave The World Behind left me with a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, and I love that.
